I really only do scores on metacritic because you have to and it helps me compare other games I’ve reviewed on metacritic to each other. Or even better yet, get rid of scores entirely and just write a review summarizing your experience with the game. I think reviewing games like this are far better than the current system, which can often blur the lines for consumers on how good a game actually is, and my hope is that over time these companies will start to do something like this too. They have to have impacted me, or the larger gaming scene in a major way yet still be a game I would otherwise give a 9 off of quality, even when ignoring the impact it has made. 4-6, an average game, has clear flaws yet also clear upsides. So for example I rate my games somewhere along the lines of 1-3 Bad, unfunctional, or just not for me. I think that it's silly to have half the scale that you never use. if you see a big release game get a 6 for example, you know something went wrong with the game. I feel like the current review score is outdated since you never see games get a five. ![]() ![]() I I want to start off by saying a five to me is an average game.
